1.) Do you pull permits?

Yes.. We are a licensed general contractor and we do pull permits for all projects as required local government laws and regulations.

 

2.) Will there be a dumpster in the driveway?

No.. We use a rubber tire dump trailer that will not damage the concrete.

 

3.) What type of felt is used?

15 lb felt is used on most roofing surfaces, 60 lb. ice and watershield is used in all valleys and porch roofs with a low pitch.

 

4.) How long will the re-roofing process take to complete?

We complete an average 1500 sf. home roof in one day. Larger homes and those with complex roof lines will take slightly longer.

 

5.) Will lighter colored shingles help to decrease the cost of my monthly electric bill? Yes they can, Visit here ->

7.) How long can I expect my shingles to really last in Charleston weather? Usually 12, maybe 15 - 17 if your house is shaded well.

 

8.) Do you charge to come out to our home? In some rare instances yes. However, it is very rare depending on how far away your home is. Gas isn't as cheap as it used to be ;) If we do your roof you won't be charged the travel fee in addition to your cost.

 


 

Roofing Terms

 

What is Bargeboard? is a board fastened to the projecting gables of a roof to give them strength and to mask, hide and protect the otherwise exposed end of the horizontal timbers or purlins of the roof.

What are Soffits? The underside of the roof over hang.

What is Fascia? The horizontal "fascia board" which caps the end of rafters outside a building, which can be used to hold the rain gutter The band around the roof line.

What is a ridge vent? a type of vent installed at the peak of a sloped roof which allows warm, humid air to escape a building's attic.

What is dry verge? mechanical fixing method which secures slates and tiles to the roof to prevent wind uplift problems and is mortar-free, making it fast and easy to fit in all weather conditions.
